The Program in Translation & Interpreting Studies in the School of Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics offers an online graduate program leading to the Master of Arts in Translation and Interpreting. Candidates may specialize in Translation for the Professions, Literary and Applied Literacy Translation, or Conference and Community Interpreting. Students working online will take two, 4-credit hour courses per semester for eight weeks each. The program will accept students working in any languages that it can support and currently teaches 37 languages from all world regions.
Choose Your Specialization
Candidates for the Master's degree complete coursework in the foundations and practice of translation and interpreting and may specialize in one of three areas:
- Translation for the Professions,
- Literary Translation,
- Conference and Community Interpreting
We encourage all students to also explore areas outside of their area of specialization. All foundation courses are taught in English and practice work is done in the student’s language pair.
