The Pavement Science and Engineering Certificate is offered by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The pavement engineering group at Illinois boasts the largest research and graduate education program of its kind in the United States. Our Pavement Engineering courses are kept up-to-date with the latest developments in materials, design, specifications, and sustainable pavement engineering practices.

Learners who complete this certificate are transportation engineers who will gain additional technical expertise in pavements and transportation materials.

Learning Criteria

• Complete three classes for 12 credit hours.
• Earn a B- or higher in each course.
